Mozambique 50 Meticais 2024

The 50 Mozambique Meticais note, launched in 2024 as part of the new banknote series, is made of polymer and features several technological upgrades. On the obverse, there is a portrait of Samora Moisés Machel, the country’s first president, as well as a tree and an antelope. On the reverse, an antelope in the savannah, cave paintings of hunters, and the map of Mozambique stand out. The design celebrates Mozambican fauna and cultural heritage, with an emphasis on safety and accessibility, including elements to facilitate use by people with visual impairments.
